Introduction:
The aim of this device is to inform the audience of the punishments of the Aboriginal Customary Law and whether or not it fits in with todays modern society and the sentencing of the Queensland Criminal Justice System.
The settlement of Australia by the Europeans commenced in 1788. Prior to this, Indigenous Australians inhabit the continent and didnt have any laws written down.
With them, the Europeans brought with them the British law, in which indigenous Australians had to abide by or were punished by the justice system, although still today some rural indigenous groups presently still live by the Customary Laws of the indigenous Australians and wish to have them recognized by all.

The laws and punishments that are currently used by Indigenous Australians have somewhat modify to try to fit in with the justice system of our period therefore arent taken to the extremities in which it would have been taken to in the times before the settlement of the Europeans.
