Grimms Fairy Tales as they are known today, is perhaps the crush known collection of folk-tales around. The brothers Jacob(1785-1863) and Wilhelm(1786-1859) Grimm came into the world during a particularly authoritative period of German History. The country, in response to the french regeneration of 1789, was developing a new sympathy for the Middle Ages, which had antecedently been seen as barbaric. The unrest in the country, especially prevalent during the French Invasions under Napoleon (1806-14) ushered forth a yearning for inexpugnable cultural identity among the German people.
This period of German love affair became the dominant transaction in art, literature and culture of communicatory countries through the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
This movement saw renewed interest in folk-culture and in hitch; the folk-tale, folk-song and folk-art.
