Humanitarian intervention in todays globalized world and international arena has had throughout its brief history some tumultuous debates on its authenticity as a foreign policy and its success in preventing, or halting, atrocities against humanity. In the world of ethics and morals in international affairs the trend seems to be that these vital areas of decision-making are diminishing in their importance to the individual states of the global company and their respective leaders. Since the end of the Second World War when the atrocities committed by the Nazis against the Jewish population were revealed the international community vowed never to allow such murderous and evil acts to be perpetrated again. withal though, situations and events since the end of the Second World War have demo to the world and its citizens that the promises never to allow such atrocities have been alter in substance.
