Prehistory: Mogollon
The Mogollon floriculture evolved from the Desert culture of the Great Basin and Southwest. wad of the Desert culture hunted, fished, and gathered wild sustenances. The geographic location of this culture was the area near the Arizona-New Mexico border. It is not known why their solid ground stopped, whether it was from a change in climate or collect to the Mogollons being forced out of their farmlands
The Mogollon culture can be divided into two large time arrests. The early period was amongst 500 B.C.-A.D. 1000 and the late period between A.D. 1000-1400. During the early period, the villages were built on high mesas, bluffs, or ridges. The buildings in the villages were roundish set houses. Villages ranged in size from four or pentad houses to 50. The pit houses were holes that were dug in the ground about 10 to 16 feet wide and about two to five feet deep.
The materials used for the roofs were poles, brush, and mud. Houses were grouped to startleher without any real plan. The ceremonial structures were usually twice as large as the largest houses.
